DU-VFX is a free iPhone app developed by Kris Collins that allows users to transform any video into extreme digital art. With 37 exclusive video filters, this app lets you play on the intoxicating fringes of glitch video. Designed for experimental individuals who don't fit into basic boxes, DU-VFX pushes the boundaries of creativity.
The app allows you to load any video from your camera roll and tap the randomize effects button to find a VFX filter combination that makes your content POP or explode into digital fragments. You can scan through the frames of your video and export any affected frame as a still image. Additionally, you have the choice to manually arrange and activate the effects stack or rely completely on the nature of chaos.
DU-VFX offers 37 insane video filters that can be applied in infinite combinations. You can blend the glitched-out version with the original using 22 blend modes, and randomize filters for unique chaos. Optionally, parameters can drift and change over time, adding an extra layer of unpredictability to your creations. Additionally, you can save any effected video frame as a still image.
It's important to note that this app is capable of completely destroying a video, but you keep the original, of course. However, please be aware that currently video rendering must happen while the app is in the foreground, as iOS may kill the app if it is backgrounded during render.
